Jazz Fest Announces 2009 Line-up!

photo of Jazz Fest founder George Wein The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is one of the greatest music festivals on Earth. The line-up for the 40th anniversary festival was announced at a press conference on Tuesday. The announcement was accompanied by a performance from the New Orleans Jazz All-Stars with festival founder and executive producer (and jazz musician) George Wein on piano.

Headliners for the upcoming festival include all-time New Orleans favorites like Allen Toussaint, Doctor John, Wynton Marsalis, and The Neville Brothers, as well as some of the true legends of soul music: Aretha Franklin, The O'Jays, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
