Dear WWOZ Members, Listeners, Volunteers and Supporters,
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It’s wonderful to take some time to reflect on all the things we are thankful for. All of us here at WWOZ are thankful for the members, listeners, volunteers, and supporters who have kept the groove going for 30 years. As we dig into our holiday meals, we’d like to raise a glass to you: Thank you.
Celebrating life is a big part of what we do here in the 504—we celebrate through our music, food, drink and dance—all the things that make this city such a special place. WWOZ celebrates the people who love New Orleans and who have made this community station what it is today.
OZ has grown steadily since we set up shop above Tipitina’s in 1980, but the heart and soul of the station remains unchanged. We are happy to be the voice of New Orleans on air and online, and look forward to another 30 years of guarding the groove.
On behalf of our entire staff and volunteer crew, I’d like to wish you a very happy holiday season.
Yours in oyster dressings and holiday blessings,
