The 6th Annual Red Umbrella March (RUM) will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2016. The RUM is designed to raise awareness and education about the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS in the local African American Community. Join Grand Marshal, Councilwoman Nadine Ramsey and Honorary Grand Marshall Gina Marie Brown as we paint the town red as we raise awareness about these startling statistics! The Lady Buckjumpers, Dumaine St Gang, Rebirth Brass Band and Free Agents Brass Band will also participate in this year’s FREE event! The RUM will start and end at the Treme Center, 900 N Villere St. For additional information contact Red Umbrella March Chair, Michael Hickerson, at ittnola@aol.com or 504-638-6519.
