WHAT: For the 25th year in a row, Touro Synagogue presents a Shabbat service infused with the stirring sounds of New Orleans. Jazz Fest Shabbat begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Patron dinner with an exclusive performance by Jon Cleary and the Absolute Mon- ster Gentlemen to begin at 6:00 p.m.

WHERE: Touro Synagogue, 4238 St. Charles Avenue at General Pershing Street, New Orleans. The entire Jazz Fest Shabbat will be live-streamed on the Touro Synagogue website, www.tourosynagogue.com.

Since 1991, Touro Synagogue has been celebrating Jazz Fest in its own special way - with a worship service that combines Judaism and jazz in a seamless, uniquely New Orleans experi- ence.

Touro Synagogue’s Jazz Fest Shabbat has become such an integral part of the two-week Jazz Fest scene that some of New Orleans’ greatest musicians have played at the service in Touro's historic sanctuary. Recent guest artists have included Allen Toussaint (with a surprise appear- ance by his friend, Paul Shaffer), Irma Thomas, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Big Chief Bo Dol- lis and the Wild Magnolias, Marcia Ball, Kermit Ruffins, Jeremy Davenport, Henry Butler and John Boutte. This year, it’s the funk of Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, fresh off their Grammy nominated album, GoGo Juice.

Like all worship services at Touro Synagogue, Jazz Fest Shabbat is free and open to the public. However, Jazz Fest Shabbat Patrons receive reserved seats for the service, in addition to ac- cess to an exclusive concert with Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen and an ele- gant dinner.

To purchase patron tickets, or for additional information, please contact Touro Synagogue at 504-895-4843 or visit www.tourosynagogue.com.
