Music, Movement Games and Yoga Basics for Ages 6-12. Participants will listen to and move with music made in different times and places, with an emphasis on the rich musical history of New Orleans. We will explore the emotional content of music and how it can be expressed through both sound and motion. Yoga movements and philosophy will foster inner focus, self-awareness and the ability to pay attention to details. This 13-week course will build skills including but not limited to: -Balance -Flexibility -Coordination -Teamwork -Active Listing -Impulse Control -Awareness of Elements of Music (Form, Tempo, Dynamics, etc.) -Basic yoga postures Note: For parents who may wish to accommodate younger siblings during the same block, the WeeJam Playgroup is available for 2.5-5-year-olds at the same time in the adjacent studio.
