Models for Success/NOLA-Futures Presents: HireYOUTH Summit for young individuals to provide employment and career development for Opportunity Youth. NEW ORLEANS-- Models for Success, one of the city’s leading workforce development organizations, will host a HireYOUTH Summit dedicated to youth and young adults ages 16-24, to provide employment and career development services. The Summit will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at JOB1 Offices on 3400 Tulane Ave, between the hours of 11am-2pm. The objective of this event is to reach youth who are not currently enrolled in school or may be in need of a second chance, as a result of being disconnected from education and career-related services. In connection with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), we are seeking to connect youth and young adults with full-time, part-time, and summer employment opportunities. During the HireYOUTH Summit, participants will be offered resources for employment assistance, including resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, career planning, current job listing information, and opportunities for paid internships. The mission of Models for Success, LLC is to assist youth and young adults in discovering, developing, and maximizing their potential. This includes helping them to acquire the necessary skills, such as communication, proper relationship development, goal setting, and work place ethics, which will enable them to thrive as successful individuals. The goal of JOB1 Business and Career Solutions is to provide employers with a skilled workforce and to link job seekers to employment that leads to self-sufficiency.
