A carnival-themed party with a photo booth, silent auction, & various carnival games inspired by the colorful characters in the Cowboy Jim play! The characters themselves will also perform at the event with live musical accompaniment in between enjoying the party with everyone who attends. Cowboy Jim is a musical by Robin Sherman that is sort of like the Wizard of Oz meets Rocky Horror Picture show in the Old West. It features members of the local music scene in dramatic roles including Robin, Kristina Morales, Ricardo Pascal & Chelsea Hines as well as members of Noelle Tannen & The Filthy No Nos, Organized Crime, Toonces and others! Robin composes and arranges all the music for a live chamber orchestra in addition to writing, producing, and starring in the show. The musical has been performed at the Marigny Opera House twice. Featuring beautiful arrangements and imaginative lyrics, Cowboy Jim’s plight is told through such songs as "Sluggin'" , "Purple Plum Man", and "Til The Cows Come Home". Despite a shoestring budget, the shows were successful thanks to the overwhelming talent and community here in New Orleans. Both shows were well attended (approx 60 ppl / show) and well received by the audience. A new and expanded production of the show will be staged in a 2 night run in May at the Marigny Opera House. The production will be staged by NYC based director Lauren Hlubny, helping to elevate the production to a new level.
