November 14, 2017 will mark the 57th anniversary of New Orleans Public School Desegregation. The Leona Tate Foundation for Change is commemorating this historic event on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 from 1pm to 5:30pm in front of historic McDonogh #19 elementary school (5909 St Claude Avenue, New Orleans LA 70117). This event will help our organization to raise public awareness to local Civil Rights history and issues, and to inform and engage people in our programs and our main project: the renovation of McDonogh #19 into a Civil Rights museum and community center.
