Industrial-scale agriculture is America's number one source of water pollution. Over half of our waterways are contaminated with nitrate from fertilizer, and toxic agricultural run-off has created the largest deadzone in history in The Gulf oF Mexico. Our environment, our health, and our economy are at risk. The vast majority of this agriculture is produced to feed livestock animals. In other words, the meat industry is driving massive amounts of pollution - but is capable of driving solutions. We all deserve clean water. Mighty Earth's #CleanItUpTyson campaign is mobilizing people across the country to ask Tyson Foods, America's largest meat corporation, to act more sustainably. Simple and cheap changes to their supply chain would dramatically reduce the meat industry's impact, and protect our water.
