Drag performers will take center stage during a lively brunch soiree at Toups South, located in New Orleans’ Southern Food and Beverage Museum (SoFAB), on Sunday, November 12. Native New Orleanian and Culinary Activist, Poppy Tooker, along with Crescentcare-NO/AIDS Task Force, will host “Poppy’s Pop-Up Drag Brunch” to support Food For Friends – a meal-delivery program, which has served people living with AIDS and cancer in the greater New Orleans area for over two decades by supplying groceries, household/personal care products, and home-delivered meals to clients and their families. Priced at $50 per person (excluding tax and server gratuity), the three-course brunch will highlight the refined cuisine of James Beard “Best Chef: South” Finalist, Chef Isaac Toups. The event is set to take place 11:30AM – 2PM, pairing amuse-bouche and breakfast fare with a variety of mid-morning cocktails including bottomless Mimosas and Pimm’s Cups. Toups South is located inside of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum at 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard in New Orleans. The restaurant serves lunch from 11AM – 3PM; dinner Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 5PM – 10PM, Friday – Saturday 5PM – 11PM; Sunday brunch 10AM – 3PM; Happy hour Monday – Saturday 3PM – 6PM at the bar; Closed Tuesdays.
