Give a Beat keeps kids off the street

Saturday, August 12, 2017 - 9:00pm
Give a Beat keeps kids off the street. Music, mentoring, and re-entry programs aid youth & families impacted by mass incarceration. Upbeat Academy grad (class of ‘16) ANSWRS opens for Unicorn Fukr, Herb Christopher, and Jeremy Avegno 9 pm at the Ice Pit on August 12, United Nations’ International Youth Day, to raise funds for Give a Beat. Give a Beat is partnering with multiple events across the US to promote music and mentoring programs such as Upbeat Academy. Join the dance community by advocating for change in the face of inequality, starting with underserved youth. As a channel for philanthropy, their activism has sparked the interest of the media. Give a Beat is known for the power of change through music. Raise awareness about how youth are being negatively affected by the mass incarceration crisis. Offer positive alternatives to the school-to-prison pipeline. You can find out more information from Give a Beat’s website www.giveabeat.org/iyd2017. Follow the cause on social with the official Give a Beat International Youth Day 2017 and official United Nations International Youth Day hashtags, #GABIYD17 #YouthDay.
