Goat in the Road Productions (GRP) and the Cachet Arts & Culture Program host “Going Numb”. Schedule of the evening:
7 pm - Doors open, guests can explore the NOPM, enjoy 19th century cocktails, dice games, back alley bowling, a peep show, and comedic advice givers C.J. Hunt and James Hamilton from The New Movement.
8 pm - Performance Time! Modern-day entertainers including Aurora Nealand, Oops the Clown, Vinsantos, Ms. Asa Metric and more, present 19th century burlesque and beyond.
Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 online at www.goatintheroadproductions.org, and include two free drink tickets.
Numb, GRP’s new original work, inspired by the sights and sounds at the NOPM, examines 19th century medicine and the early days of anesthesiology. The show explores physical and emotional pain, and how communities attempt to overcome pain through medicine and ritual. Numb will open on Friday, Nov. 7 and will run for 5 weeks.
