Award-winning education reporter Sarah Carr will lecture about her book 'Hope Against Hope: Three Schools, One City, and the Struggle to Educate America's Children,' "the story of New Orleans schools after Hurricane Katrina, through the eyes of those most affected by the dramatic education changes."
Carr has written about education for the last twelve years, reporting on the battle over vouchers and charter schools in urban districts. Her work has been honored with numerous national awards and fellowships, most recently a Spencer Education Journalism Fellowship at Columbia University. She has also contributed to the New York Times, the Hechiniger Report, the Times-Picayune, Time.com, and several other news outlets.
