New Orleans Empty Bowls Benefit, hosted by New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness (NOAAHH), Sunday, May 11, 1-4 p.m. at Rock-n-Bowl. Come be part of a grassroots effort to end hunger.
Admission $30. Free admission for children, 12 and under (accompanied by an adult). Purchase tickets at noaahh.org or at the door. The first 300 ticket buyers receive a complimentary bowl from contributing potters. Advance ticket purchase recommended.
Music by The Hot 8 Brass Band. Cash bar, local culinary favorites by Kajun Kettle and Southern Hospitality Catering. Silent auction featuring bowls glazed and signed by Little Freddie King, Jon Cleary and Deacon John.
Event proceeds will go toward NOAAHH’s grants to nonprofit agencies and charities experienced in providing food and shelter to the needy.
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. The New Orleans metro area has the second-highest rate of food hardship in the nation.
