Sites & Sounds featuring Deacon John Moore + more

DATE
Sat, Sep 21, 2013 2:00pm

Join Tulane City Center and the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park for “Sites and Sounds” at the Old U.S. Mint. Participants include Amber Wiley, Tulane professor; Dan Etheridge of the Tulane City Center; Deacon John Moore; Littdell S. Banister, Big Queen of the Creole Wild West Mardi Gras Indians; the Paulin Brothers Brass Band; and Jamahl Washington, former owner and manager of Brown Sugar Records. Musical performances and discussion will focus on four sites within a small section of the city’s Uptown neighborhood – a housing project, a shuttered nightclub, a public park, and a vacant record store. This event will be a conversation of not only what has been, but also potential for the sites and their future.
