'the dislocation of familiarity' is a collection of Polaroids and other photographs, mostly non-traditional portraits of people in the artist's surrounding communities. It speaks to intimacy, as well as the feeling of being just on the outside of things, whether by choice or by circumstance. Devin o Saurus strives to create space in his work for a wide range of identities to be appreciated, and photographs as a way to connect closely to the people around him.
