Shorty Fest benefit concert features Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave., Dirty Dozen and Hot 8 brass bands plus Cha Wa
Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave. will headline Shorty Fest (#shortyfest), May 2 at Generations Hall in New Orleans, a concert to benefit the Trombone Shorty Foundation. Shorty Fest will feature two stages of live music with performances by Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Cha Wa and Hot 8 Brass Band. Students from the Trombone Shorty Academy, the Foundation's music education program, will give an ensemble performance with a special appearance by The Meters’ drummer Ziggy Modeliste.

Sponsored by Presqu’ile Winery of Santa Maria, Calif., Shorty Fest is the only appearance by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue during the second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival other than their closing set during the last day of the festival.
