New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness (NOAAHH) will present “A Tribute to Toussaint,” a benefit concert celebrating NOAAHH co-founder Allen Toussaint’s 75th birthday year and music legacy. Tickets are on sale at noaahh.org.
A musician, songwriter and record producer, Allen Toussaint is one of the most influential figures in New Orleans R&B. Elvis Costello, Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Jon Cleary, Art Neville, Cyril Neville, Joe Stampley, Joe Henry and Deacon John are just a few of the musical friends and collaborators who will be honoring him at the concert and, of course, Toussaint will be joining them on stage.
NOAAHH was founded in 1985 when Allen Toussaint and Aaron Neville brought together a group of New Orleans musicians for the purpose of performing a concert to benefit the hungry and homeless of the New Orleans region. NOAAHH has distributed more than $1 million to more than 50 organizations that provide food and shelter to those in need.
