The Film Buffs Institute will screen for the first time in the Southern U.S. —and only the second time in the U.S.— the epic Hungarian animated feature film, “The Tragedy of Man."
The screening features a special video introduction by director Marcell Jankovics explaining his animated epic that spent more than 20 years in production. The New Orleans Film Society co-presents the event, which also features complimentary popcorn. The screening is free and open to the public and free parking is also available in the West Road Garage, accessible from St. Charles Avenue.
The animated film is an adaptation of Hungary’s best-known drama, a play by Imre Madach of the same title. The movie follows the same grand storyline with Adam, Eve and Lucifer visiting the globe’s great civilizations during their finest hours, and then witnessing the downfall of humanity.
