The night before the 43rd New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival begins, come see what the first Jazzfest at Congo Square was like. The 16mm films include musicians such as Duke Ellington, Mahalia Jackson and Pete Fountain performing in the Square and on the stage of Memorial Hall. The films will be moderated by music historian Dr. Charles Chamberlain and the Band-In-A-Pocket Trio will play during the movies where there isn’t sound. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Cabildo and the New Orleans Film Society. Seating is extremely limited and reservations are required. Cash bar available.
