Los Islenos Festival

The Isleños Historic Village, situated in the rear of Los Isleños Museum, will once more be the setting for a series of living history demonstrations featuring folk crafts, historic vernacular lifestyles and the cultural identity of the Isleños descendant’s community in St. Bernard Parish. Representatives of the Houma Nation will prominently figure again in Fiesta 2013, interpreting the history, culture and folk traditions of the Houma Tribe. Domingo Rodriguez Oramas, known in Europe as "EL Colorao" will be the featured cultural entertainer from the Island of Fuerteventura during Fiesta 2013. He is a renown Timple player, who has performed extensively in festivals throughout Spain and continental Europe.
