Wookiee Save a Life Day

Peter Mayhew, the actor who played ‘Chewbacca” in the Star Wars Movies, will be appearing live at BSI Comics.

BSI Comics will host a special public appearance by Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars movies, and this year's King of the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus.

"Save a Life Day" is blood drive for Ed Ernewein, who last year needed Ochsner's on-hand blood supply to save his life. In gratitude, his family is working with Ochsner to replace the units Ed needed in hopes this drive can give another family the possibility of life in times of unexpected and severe illness.

All presenting blood donors will receive a free photo op with Mr. Mayhew. Fans are welcome to come to the event in costume, or just as they are. No appointments needed.
