The New Orleans Public Library will host a celebration of the arts with a reading and book signing with United States Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at Main Library, 219 Loyola Ave., 504-596-2560. The event is free and open to the public.
Trethewey, a Gulf Coast native, is a Pulitzer-Prize winning poet and the 19th U.S. Poet Laureate (2012-2013). Dedicated to recovering the Gulf Coast, Threthewey will share her themes of race, history, personal experiences and politics with the people of New Orleans.
