In the photographic series Earth Never Leaves Your Hands, Lindsay Carter Pritchard explores nature’s ubiquity and man’s role as an intrinsic part of the natural world through experiencing the land of the South. By using herself as both photographer and primary subject, Pritchard records her relationship to the landscape from the perspective of a Louisiana native. This study of the synchronicity between figure and nature captures the resilience and sanctuary afforded by the Southern landscape against the deterioration of man-made structures.
The photographs of Earth Never Leaves Your Hands were taken using medium format film, then printed by hand in the darkroom through the Gelatin-Silver process.
