La Pecera/The Fish Tank delves into the stark realities of immigrant life, both the violence and hardship suffered in crossing borders, as well as the marginalization experienced by both legal and illegal immigrants within society. Director Eric Mayer-Garcia has compiled a series of short plays that explore the human side of immigration, with works by Dolores Prida, Pedro Monge-Rafuls, and Caridad Svich. As La Pecera/The Fish Tank focuses on Latin themes, the use of live music and dance on stage will help bring the audience further into the abstract culture of those who have departed their homes in search of another life. La Pecera/The Fish Tank includes mature language, sexual themes, and violence onstage. Parents are strongly cautioned that the piece is not appropriate for children.
