This forum is the next step in a long-term effort to secure our children’s future and to transform New Orleans into one of the best cities in the United States for kids to grow up, regardless of their race, class, gender, ability or background. Our goal is to establish a coordinated citywide system of academic, health and career preparation services for children ages 0-26 that is accessible, effective and sustainable. The forum is free and open to the public, and dinner will be provided.
The evening will begin with dinner from the award-winning Café Reconcile and a series of brief presentations from leaders of the project in areas such as children's health, urban planning, research, evaluation and school reform. Participants will then break off into small groups to discuss, give input and join the effort.
