The New Orleans Fringe announces this month’s Pillow Talk and a Shot, “Hip-Hop, Rock and Soul: Music As Theater” with DaVida Chanel, Pamela Davis-Noland and Ratty Scurvics facilitated by Alison Fensterstock. This is the second of the Fringe’s free, intimate monthly conversations about hot topics in theater. Everyone— performers, artists, audience, press, and community members—interested in theater or Fringe Fest is welcome.
Bring your own pillow (optional) and hear about how both theatre artists and musicians blur the lines between their two art forms and emerge with personal and powerful performances outside the realm of traditional “musical theatre”. Hang out, connect and contribute your own two cents about how music and theatre can be merged in unique and genre-defying ways, and then stick around for delicious banh mi and the Lost Love Lounge’s raucous Tuesday night stand-up comedy show at 10 pm.
