The New Orleans Katrina Commemoration Foundation is a local grassroots organization formed to commemorate loved ones lost during Hurricane Katrina and the Great Flood. The 2006 and 2007 marches were hosted by the People's Hurricane Relief Fund (PHRF). After the second march, PHRF closed down. In 2008, the New Orleans Katrina Commemoration Foundation was established to continue the march because we believe in our community's health and well being despite our horrific experience.

The Program will include local musicians, hiphop artists, community speakers and spoken word artists. The  program addresses the never-to-be-diminish​ed profound impact of Katrina, the future of New Orleans and how we are sustaining ourselves post Katrina.
