Royal Carriages' 75th Anniversary Celebration

Wednesday, October 26, 2016 - 2:00pm
After 75 Years, Royal Carriages Opens The Gates to Celebrate, and You're Invited! Royal Carriages of New Orleans celebrates it’s 75th Anniversary on Wednesday, October 26th, from 2pm-6pm. For the first time in history, the oldest operating stables in New Orleans, located at 1824 North Rampart in the Marigny, will be open to the public for a behind the scenes look at the oldest carriage operator in America. This event is free and open to the public, and features free wagon rides throughout the neighborhood, free stable tours, and more. One of America’s oldest cities, New Orleans, can be defined by its history and traditions that are still alive and well in the old French Quarter and surrounding neighborhoods. Preserving one of those cultural traditions is a 3rd generation family-owned company known as Royal Carriages. Since the birth of New Orleans in 1718, guests have toured the city by carriage. It's the proper way to see the French Quarter and the most authentic view of the city. For generations, the Lauga Family has been passionate about providing the best tours around and it's this commitment that has made Royal Carriages the oldest commercial carriage operator in the United States. On Wednesday, October 26th, Royal Carriages hosts it’s 75th Anniversary Celebration in conjunction with National Mule Day, a holiday that honors the contributions that mules have made for America. Guests in attendance can expect live music by the Shotgun Jazz Band in addition to food provided by New Orleans School of Cooking and Aunt Sally’s Pralines. Adult beverages will be provided by Urban South Brewery and Old New Orleans Rum. Experience up close interactions with our affectionate carriage mules throughout the afternoon with a guided tour of the stable. Bring the family and dress in costume for a memorable New Orleans affair that is surely not to be missed with Royal Carriages.
