Canon Hospice present "Sentimental Journey", an event benefiting the Akula Foundation. As a 501(c)3 organization, the Akula Foundation provides care for indigent patients, a 3 day camp for children that have experienced the loss of a loved one, and support groups for families. In addition, the Foundation holds reminisce groups in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and memory care units. Held on Friday August 26, 2016 from 6 pm - 9 pm at Patton's in Slidell, there will be live entertainment from Andrew Duhon, food & drinks and a silent auction.
