With the passing of Thanksgiving, I thought this would be the perfect time to thank everyone who has been a part of making this past year so wonderful for me. As you know, this past year I have been celebrating my 10th anniversary as the show host of the Swing Session and my 15th anniversary of performing and recording music in New Orleans.

Listen here all you denizens of the delta, the Western Sahara powerhouse Tinariwen will take to the stage this Monday, November the 7th at House of Blues.  Hailed as one of the most prominent contemporary acts today, Tinariwen truly exemplifies the blues through their songs of struggle and strife.

Zydeco and Cajun Music this week at Swamp Fest

The Audubon Zoo is hosting it’s annual Swamp Fest, Nov. 5-6, bringing a some great South Louisiana music to the stages. Satuday, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha-Chas are in the Performance Pavillion and the Lafouche Cajun Band from Lockport will be in the Swamp Exhibit.

The 6' to 9' Social Aid and Pleasure Club's 7th annual Halloween parade rolled Saturday evening from the 6th to the 9th ward, passing out candy, homemade toys and sheer holiday fun to neighborhood chidren en route. This year's theme was: "The End of Times Marches On,".

We all love New Orleans.  Through the best of times and the worst of times, we dedicate ourselves by truly LIVING for the city like no other community in the nation does. That’s why when I learned about NOAAHH, New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness, (pronounced “Noah”, like the guy with the Ark) I had to spread the word about this organization.

This city truly enjoys an embarrassment of musical riches.  Just when you thought you'd heard it all, here's a nice little twist on live music performance.

A Constellation of Cellos will be part of the atmosphere at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art tomorrow night during their annual gala event, titled O What A Night.
