When Robert Johnson recorded his song “Crossroad Blues”, he was not singing about some nondescript intersection, he was singing about a very specific place in the flat delta plain between the Yazoo and Mississippi Rivers. A place known by all and visited by only a very few.

Pinetop Perkins' Obit & Funeral

RIP Pinetop Perkins July 7, 1913 to March 21, 2011. Nobody can live forever, but for a period of time in his long life of 97 years, the legendary Pinetop Perkins made us think it was possible. It is with tears that we say goodbye to one of the most loved and highly respected blues musicians of our time. Pinetop Perkins died today of heart failure at his home in Austin, Texas.

Even here they add the 's' to the most famous crossroad

This may be a SMALL thing, but seem to have a life of its' own. One of the twenty-nine songs of Robert Johnson is "Crossroad". By the passage of time and ear-to-mouth transfer of the title it has become crossroads by the addition of the s on the end. Let's set the record straight.
