We thought we'd be getting rain, but aside from a little sprinkle (and misters all around the festival), the Jazz Fest was saved for another day from the Jazz Fest curse (the curse: it rains at least one day of the festival).
Day 5 at the Fairgrounds was blessed with weather that was hot but kept everyone happy and dancing. Slaking our thirst with all the delicious iced coffee and fruit over at the 'OZ Hospitality Tent.
The only Thursday of Jazz Fest is a special day at the Fairgrounds: the hardcore Jazz Festers are out in full force, after putting on their straw hats and calling in sick to work. It's also the day that the Festival gives out tickets to school children to attend the festival, so lots of kids were out enjoying all the culture and educational experiences the Jazz Fest has to offer.
We're half-way through Jazz Fest. The first weekend was tremendous with amazing live broadcasts from the Fest, huge crowds, beautiful weather, and WWOZ even sold out of brass passes.
