Wandering as near to the PlayStation/Billboard Stage as I could, I caught the gypsy-punk superband Gogol Bordello. Although I had to watch mostly from the giant screen above the stage, I could hear the band's thumping presence easily from right in front of the sound tent.

I managed to catch an act I've been waiting to see for some time now, the New Orleans Bingo! Show, over at the Bingo! Parlour (a small circus tent). I got more than I expected... Aside from some particularly ghoulish zombie costumes, ringleader Clint Maegden and his cohorts treated the packed tent to some scarily energetic music.

A huge weekend planned at the 2010 Voodoo Music Experience. In particular the Bingo Parlour tent.

I haven't been able to leave this tent in the last 2 years. It is a festival in a festival, and I am sure I will spend most of the weekend there this year.

The Bingo Parlour tent opens at 10:00 a.m. Friday with Yoga classes followed by Ratty Scurvics at 11:00 a.m.

LIVE music in Mandeville "Updated due to rain"

Why are city governments so "NON-SUPPORTIVE" of LIVE music? In Mandeville, Chenier built a new shopping, residential facility on Highway 190. They included in their plans a lovely ampitheater with gazebo for performances. They schedule four live music performance for Thursdays in October, free to the public and invited the neighborhood.
