I have a tentative commitment from Santa Claus to come on my show on Christmas Eve, if he can get a break from sliding down chimneys. He says he'll bring Rudolph too, but I'll believe that when I see it.
While the performance speaks for itself, I can't really tell you much about the provenance of this video; if you know, leave a comment. The YouTube poster tersely notes that it's from 1961 but provides no other details.
My first show of the year, on Saturday morning January 3, 2015 will feature traditional jazz named for various New Orleans places, like Mahogany Hall Stomp. I will discuss these places and how some of them influenced the jazz we listen to today.
