Team WWOZ Rollicks On!

Team 'OZ raised $14,075 through participation in this year’s Crescent City Classic on April 19! This is almost twice our 2013 total.

The After-Party!

Wednesday, April 23, four days after Team WWOZ rolled into its record-setting totals for participants and fund-raising in the Crescent City Classic, we had a party at Kermit Ruffins' Mother-in-Law Lounge.

Kermit cooked -- dee-licious chicken and red beans and rice! Team-members traded stories -- of race-days and Music Festivals and beer. Kid Merv and his band and then Leslie Cooper and her Music Street band entertained us. Outstanding fund-raisers received awards. Kermit sang and played.

It was, as WWOZ General Manager David Freedman said, "sweet."

Support from the Rebirth Brass Band and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band!

An added post-race perk occurred with contributions to Team WWOZ from two of New Orleans’ most beloved and ambassadorial musical groups, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and the Rebirth Brass Band. Having them join us was like strawberries on the icing on the cake!
