Here's 1990s legend, the late Beau Jocque (born Andrus J. Espre, 11/1/1953 - 9/10/1999), with one of the biggest selling songs in Zydeco history, "Beau Jocque Boogie".

"Beau Jocque" (Creole for Big Guy) was a 35-year-old electrician, injured and temporarily paralyzed, when he took up his father's accordion in the mid-1980s. By the early 1990s, he was the biggest star in Zydeco and was responsible for updating and urbanizing the form, adding funk, soul, rock to the mix.
