August 12th: Cocktail and Song – the Consummate Couple

With Bill deTurk

doors at 5:00 PM, seminar begins at 5:30
at SoBou Restaurant, 310 Chartres St.

There has been both music and booze since the beginning of recorded time. One of the earliest known recipes of any kind is for something more or less like beer and dates back thousands of years to ancient Sumeria.  To date, no recordings have been found from that time period… but Bill deTurk is pretty sure that people were banging or blowing and making some kind of “music” then as well.

This tradition of celebrating, or simply experiencing, life with the combination of music and cocktails continues to this day.  For this evening’s symposium, we will experience and extol the everlasting connection between great songs and timeless cocktails.

The event will be held at SoBou, located in the W New Orleans – French Quarter. For $35 (MOTAC and SOFAB members receive a 20% discount), guests will enjoy bites from SoBou along with the cocktails. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance — seating is limited and we can’t guarantee that there will be space for you if you try to purchase your ticket at the door!
