That's right y'all, pin that dollar, we're celebrating 32 years today! Thank you to all of YOU, the wonderful listerners, musicans, volunteers and friends around the world for keeping us going strong into our 4th decade!

Well, well.....thirty-two years old......and, honey, you shore lookin' FINE to me.
Helping people ALL over the world keepin' a smile......on the dial.
Thanks VERY much to EVERYONE who makes it possible to stay in touch with the soul of New Orleans no matter where we ramble.
You mean SO much to me.

At noon today, students from the the Red Wolf Brass Band of Riverdale Middle School in Old Jefferson will be performing in the 'OZ studio. It's the latest installment of Cuttin' Class, made possible by Coventry Health Care of Louisiana.
 
The program is named for informal, impromptu musical competitions, or 'cutting contests' were important to the early development of jazz in New Orleans. Prevailing in these competitions (among both individuals and groups vied for musical supremecy) required both musicianship and improvisational skills.

It's finally starting to get hot, and the music & festival fun just gets better as the temperature increases. Check out some of the music festivals and other diversions in and around greater New Orleans this summer. Beausoleil (left) plays June 9 at the LA Cajun-Zydeco Festival.

Blood Drive for Sunday's Victims

The New Orleans Musicians Clinic will be hosting a replacement blood drive on Wednesday, May 22 from 3-9pm for the victims of Sunday's shootings at 617 Frenchmen Street, at the Art Market
