A Message of Thanks During this Holiday Season

Tag(s): Show host blog

With the passing of Thanksgiving, I thought this would be the perfect time to thank everyone who has been a part of making this past year so wonderful for me. As you know, this past year I have been celebrating my 10th anniversary as the show host of the Swing Session and my 15th anniversary of performing and recording music in New Orleans. I could not have accomplished either without the help of many.

So, I would like to thank the WWOZ staff and volunteers who have made my years doing the Swing Session possible. Just as importantly, I would like to give a special thanks to all of my loyal listeners from all over the world who have made my show so memorable this year.

On a personal note, I would want to say how blessed I've been to have Stacey Morigeau help me with my membership drive shows year after year, and especially this past year. The drives this year were some of the best the Swing Session has ever seen.

I started this year's celebration with my CD release party at Preservation Hall for my latest CD recording Coming Up For Air . As you know, musicians have always been a huge part of my show whether performing with my band, coming in for an interview on the show, appearing on my show during membership drives, just giving me support or all of the above. So I would like to individually thank all of the musicians who have helped make this last year so special. The following is in alphabetical order (I hope I haven't forgotten anyone):

Al Belletto, Holley Bendtsen, Al Bernard, Peter Cho, Geoff Clapp, Harry Connick, Jr, Deacon John, Dr John, David Easley, Dwight Fitch, Jr, Matt Hampsey, Clarence Johnson III, Tim Laughlin, Herman LeBeaux, Kerry Lewis, Branford Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, Amasa Miller, Ayla Miller, Aaron Neville, Charmaine Neville, David Pulphus, Matt Rhody, Jamil Sharif, Allen Toussaint.

Thank you so much.

Musically yours,

Kathleen Lee
