1) Fun local festivals this weekend as the 13th annual Bayou Bacchanal Caribbean Festival returns to Congo Square on Saturday, November 5. It kicks off with a parade that begins at 11a outside Harrah's (Poydras side). The 10th annual Central City Fest is also happening Saturday, on the 1600-1800 blocks of Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. Performers include Bamboula 2000, Big Chief Brian Harrison Nelson and the Nouveau Bounce, Free Agents Brass Band, and more.

2) If you're looking to get lost in the crowd, "Boudin, Bourbon, and Beer" is happening in Champions Square on Friday, November 4. Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings are sure to have a triumphant return to New Orleans after an amazing performance at Jazz Fest earlier this year. Anderson East, Banditos, and the Lost Bayou Ramblers will also perform.

3) Mosey on over to our new music spotlight series if you haven't checked it out lately-- there are some great local albums that have come out in the last couple months, including Delfeayo Marsalis & the Uptown Orchestra's Make America Great Again!, Luke Winslow King's I'm Glad Trouble Don't Last Always, Prunka/Jenner's Continuum, and Robin Barnes's Songbird Sessions.

4) A new exhibit, "Preserving Second Line Culture," is opening at the Jazz & Heritage Gallery on Monday, November 7. The rare group exhibit brings together works by contemporary photographers and historical images to create a powerful story of second line culture in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The Jazz & Heritage Gallery is located at 1205 N. Rampart St. It is open Monday through Friday, 10a-4:30p. Admission is free.

5) If you're looking for a special treat this weekend, Bob Dylan's incredible 36-disc set, 'The 1966 Live Recordings,' is available to preview now via NPR's 'First Listen' series.
