Voodoo Experience announces 2009 lineup!

The Voodoo Experience has just announced the 2009 lineup of performers for all three stages. The big national headliners are on Le Ritual Stage, but there are plenty of top local New Orleans acts on Le Flambeau and Le Carnival Stages too. The exact schedule hasn't been released yet, but we'll let ya know when it happens.

Michael Jackson, the "King of Pop" passed away today at the age of 50. Although he will no doubt be remembered by many for the controversies surrounding his appearance and incidents at his Neverland Ranch, his music stands as a lasting contribution to American culture, and his humanitarian efforts have enriched the lives of many around him.

Bonnaroo Day 2

This is actually day 3 but the second big day with the days blurring together.

After catching David Byrne and the Beastie Boys on Friday night I decided to head back to camp 1 and get some rest and missing Femi Kuti, Phish and Girl Talk.

Woke up to a shot of Tennessee moonshine for breakfast from one of my neighbors this beautiful Saturday morning here at bonnaroo.

Bonnaroo Day I

After a stormy and rainy night with tornado watches and warnings in effect I did venture out to the Arcade Disco about midnight and caught the end of D.J. Quickie Marts set and also caught the Gypsyphonic Disko with Ben Ellman of Galcactic.

Walked back to camp 1 at 2:00 a.m. in the rain to get ready for Friday.

Boudin and Bonnaroo! ils sont partis

Left Houma Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. (the plan was to leave for 10). After numerous stops in New Orleans and after a red beans and rice with a smothered porkchop lunch at the praine connection we finally hit the road for Manchester, Tennesse for the 8th Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.(the plan was 12:00 p.m.)
